Flowing Warblers
In London, childhood friends from high school, Beginning and Forever, arrange to meet, leaving behind an unfinished farewell and a peculiar pair of rackets on the grass. With unclear futures ahead, they part ways—one returning to Hong Kong, the other wandering through Europe.
Troubled by depression, Lai Yee contemplates what constitutes a shared destiny beneath a ginkgo tree, dreaming of love and reunion. Li Sai Mui, who traveled far to care for her daughter-in-law, resolutely abandons her elderly companion and her pride, cautiously reconstructing the latter half of her life along a single subway line. Amid the pandemic, Ming finds himself trapped in a small Spanish town, torn between professional aspirations and family, until a mascot unexpectedly enters his world, forcing a choice.
Writer Ho Mit self-exiles to the edge of the world in Ireland to focus on writing, but the 5,000 books on local studies he needs are delayed in transit. Past memories gradually push this aloof and embittered man toward the abyss of destruction.
Genesis, a gender-fluid individual, conceals an indefinable self within mascot costumes, constantly exchanging identities with others, playfully aspiring to become a mascot that leaps from one point to another.
As winter gives way to spring, Beginning and Forever, who have been striving to live earnestly, firmly grasp reality and take a small step forward.
