Faye LEONG
Faye Leong, a Malaysia born Chinese, is an actress, director, producer, educator and artistic director. She has been actively engaged in the theatrical circles for the past 20 years. She is currently teaching at the School of Drama HKAPA.
After graduation with a first-class honors degree, Faye joined Hong Kong Repertory Theatre as a full-time professional actress and has been nominated and awarded the Best Actress or Best Supporting Actress by Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies. During 2000 to 2004, Faye joined U-Theatre, and performed in some world renown arts festival, such as “The Next Wave Festival” in New York, “Biennale de La danse de Lyon” in France, “Haus der Berliner Festspiele” in Germany, “Bergen International Festival” in Norway, “Santiago International Festival” in Spain, etc.
From 2005 onwards, she together with other partners who share the same passion towards theatre arts formed a troupe in Taiwan called The Möbius Strip Theatre. She assumed the role of Co-Artistic Director and led various new concept projects in the company, including heritage site-specific theatre, exchange platform between Hong Kong and Taiwanese artists, creative work themed around body mind and spirituality.
Over the years, she continuously engages herself in a wide spectrum of theatrical experiences and performances and works with different directors from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Some of these works (in Hong Kong) include Hong Kong Repertory Theatre – Dust and Dawn; Shed Skin (Rerun & Japan tour), Hong Kong Arts Festival – The French Kiss; Tian Gong Kai Wu, On & On Theatre Workshop – N.S.A.D. No Significant Abnormality Detected; The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat; hamlet b. and Oleanna etc.
