All is Calm
【You’ve to live a good life for yourself, even if you’re the only person left in the world】
Everyone comes to the world alone, walks through this land, learns lessons from the people and scenery he meets, and then puts them down one by one and goes back alone. All the things around and inside him seem non-existent but truly existed.
Between existence and non-existence, in every breath he takes, how many touching moments he has before he can be considered to have truly lived?
Year 2019 to 2022 opened the door to another world. In the midst of a series of intermittent changes: politics, epidemics, isolation, emigration, separation, life and death, the author had so many questions about the world he lives on, and from reflection came his questions of life.
In the days of isolation, time seemed to be of no importance, and the world outside no longer existed. The author magnified this solitude, and imagined a world without other human beings. In the stillness of the room, with no one else around, if one talks to oneself, would he then know what to say, or how to say?
The preset world of All is Calm is completely imaginary, and inspired by a post-apocalyptic novel the author read in a young age. Although the title of the book has been lost in his memory, an illustration of the encounter between a man and a woman after the end of the world has been burned into his mind. However, the external world setting of this play is not important. The writing focuses on two strangers with different world views contemplating life and society in their common life.
