Quills
The Marquis de Sade is an extraordinary French writer, but the subject matter of his writing is deviant. Even though he is locked up in the insane asylum, he continues to write tirelessly. However, his work is too terrifying that both the asylum and his wife want to silence him.
In real history, Sade had indeed been locked up in the asylum, which inspired the American award-winning playwright Doug Wright to boldly create Quills, exploring censorship, sex, violence and other taboo subjects. After winning the Obie Award and Kesselring Prize, Wright adapted the play into a film, and it was nominated for Oscars, and Golden Globes for Best Adapted Screenplay.
