Becca CHEUNG
Theatre director, Choreographer and Project curator
Graduated from Swiss Hotel Management School (First honours degree) and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) School of Drama, majoring in Directing. During her study, she got HKAPA Alumni Association Scholarships, Environmental Protection Scholarship and HKSAR Gov't Scholarship Fund - Reaching Out Award. In 2021, She won The Most Outstanding Artist in Wuzhen Theatre Festival Emerging Theatre Artist’s Competition. She participated in the European Theatre Convention Artist Residency program with Schauspielhaus Graz (Graz National Theatre).
Recently directing works included Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s Rose of Nightingale; Ukraine Playreading Festival’s Skin Deep and Survivor's Syndrome; Shekou Theatre Festival’s Let’s have a stroll on an autumn’s day; Wuzhen Theatre Festival’s A Ripple of sound; Artable Studio’s The Cherry Orchard; Playwright Studio 10’s Whole-wheat bread and HKAPA’s I am a moon.
Recently participated as an assistant director/assistant to director including Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s Love a La Zen and Sœurs; HKAPA School of Drama’s Castle of Glass: Iridescent and Luna Gale; HKAPA School of Music’s Sprout Multimedia Concert; Windmill Grass Theatre’s The Invisible Friend.
Other participated production including including Schauspielhaus Graz’s Zur Schönen Aussicht (Assistant dramaturg); Hong Kong Repertory Theatre/ Tianjin Renyi’s Deling and Cixi (Choreographer); Shanghai Theatre Academy’s Much Ado About Nothing (Movement coach) as well as Let’s Be Together Arts Festival in Taiwan’s Makye Ame (Dramaturg).
