Jen LAM
Jen Lam received MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise from Central Saint Martins, UAL. She previously completed her studies in theatre and arts administration in the US and Australia. She founded the arts unit Riceballer in 2013 and currently serves as its Artistic Director.
 
Lam has written, directed, and performed in numerous works, including the woman-solo series A Diary's about a Girl's Happiness (9th run), Sadtime Stories/11520 (2nd run), See You when I See You, Call me if you love me, My First Bra Talks, and online zoom theatre Table for Two; directed and performed in woman-solo translated work Every Brilliant Thing;  as a participating artist in An Invitation: On Empty Theatre co-presented by Freespace, West Kowloon and Edward Lam Dance Theatre; co-produced woman-solo translated work Girls and Boys (2nd run) with Edward Lam Dance Theatre, for which she was nominated for Performer of the Year at the 2022 IATC (HK) Critics Awards for her performance in the premiere production. Her experimental directorial works include One Day We Crashed, Where's Martin, Dream On!, and GG Laboratory.
 
In 2023, Lam was invited as a speaker at TEDxTinHauWomen, where she shared how Asian women use personal stories and emotional experiences to connect with others and embrace their inner “Drama Queen.”
 
In arts education and outreach, Lam currently serves as Artist-in-Residence and Drama Instructor at St. Stephen’s College, as well as an invited Guest Instructor for the “The Fourth Wall: Arts and Satisfaction Workshop – The Art of Being Content” under WestK Performing Arts Presents: Season 24/25. She has led theatre workshops and lectures for local universities, tertiary institutions, and various organizations. Her Drama Queen workshop is Hong Kong’s first woman-solo drama workshop, empowering nearly one hundred women to write and direct their own stories.
