NG Wai-shek Andy
After graduating with a journalism degree, Ng became a TV screenwriter for many years. During this time, he studied modern dance, worked as a dance and drama critic, and worked in productions of local theatre companies Sand and Bricks and Theatre Fanatico.

Later, he went to London to pursue a master's degree in theatre East and West, after which he went to Singapore and trained in various traditional Eastern and Western performance disciplines at the Theatre Training & Research Programme established by Kuo Pao-kun.  After returning to Hong Kong, he devoted himself to stage performance and took part in different types of performances across styles and genres. He has also travelled extensively in Europe and Asia to perform or participate in creative exchanges and teaching.

In addition to performing, Ng continues to pursue his research and teaching of performance theory and practice. He has successively served as a part-time lecturer at the Hong Kong Baptist University, a tutor for performance training in multimedia and performing arts at the Lee Shau Kee College in Hong Kong, and a full-time lecturer at the School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.  He also founded the Center for Performing Arts Research and completed the first part of his research into the relationship between Tai Chi and performance training.  Based on his training, research, and teaching experience, Ng has also compiled a system of acting training which combines psychological and physical approaches.

Ng is also a senior art critic in Hong Kong. He has published review articles in various newspapers and magazines. He was chairman of the International Association of Theatre Critics (Hong Kong), and helped educate and promote local art criticism and the culture of art criticism.

In addition, Ng has also written and directed plays. He was a founding member of Singapore's Traditions & Editions Theatre Circus, is artistic advisor to the Circus Theatre Group in Hong Kong, and the principal researcher at the Hong Kong Centre for Performing Arts Research. Currently, he teaches the one-year physical theatre performance training course which he designed for Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio.
