BabyJohn Choi has appeared in a wide range of commercials and stage productions, rising to prominence for his role as Alan in The Way We Dance. He graduated in 2009 from the School of Drama at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he was awarded scholarships twice. During his studies, he received Outstanding Actor awards for The Lark and The Exception and the Rule, and was nominated for Outstanding Actor at the 2nd Hong Kong Theatre Libre in 2010 for his portrayal of Pei Yu in Aroma in the Dust. He also won Best Leading Actor at the 2010 Hong Kong Most Popular TV Commercial Awards for a Tempo tissue commercial.


He was selected as a resident actor with Chung Ying Theatre Company for the 2010–11 season. In 2013, he gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Alan in The Way We Dance, earning the Best New Performer award at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards in 2014. He has appeared in numerous films, including the The Way We Dance and Shock Wave series, 29+1, and One Second Champion. In addition to his film work, he has taken on roles in several television dramas, such as RTHK’s A Dream Comes True; TVB’s Oh My Grad and I Bet Your Pardon; and ViuTV’s No One Lies and Where Is My Fifteen Minutes.
