Li Ni-shan graduated in 2019 from the School of Drama at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she majored in Acting. After graduation, she joined Chung Ying Theatre Company as a full-time actress, appearing in productions such as The Lower Depths and Frankenstein: Relive. In 2021, she became an Artist-in-Residence at Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium, undertaking an apprenticeship with actors of Odin Teatret.
 
In recent years, her performances have included Theatre Space’s Hong Kong Remakes series — the staged reading of The Blue Under Watch, the minimalist production Ellie, My Love, its 2025 revival of the Broadway musical Godspell, and the original musical African Lion@ Chungking Mansions; Musical Trio’s Rooftop Rhapsody for the Arts Experience Scheme for Senior Secondary Students; Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s Text Testing Zone: Vacant Possession; and her own project Sailing Is For Nomads, supported by the Emerging Artists Development Grant.
 
Ellie, My Love was nominated for Performance of the Year at the IATC (HK) Critics Awards 2022 and received four nominations at the 14th Hong Kong Theatre Libre, winning Best Director and Best Overall Performance. In 2025, she won Best Supporting Actress (Comedy/Farce) at the 33rd Hong Kong Drama Awards for Vacant Possession. In 2026, she was nominated for Best Leading Actress (Tragedy/Drama) at the 34th Hong Kong Drama Awards for the rerun of Ellie, My Love.
 
She is currently a freelance stage actress.
