SHAW Mei-kwan
Shaw graduated from the School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, with a major in acting. During her studies in HKAPA, she has participated in numerous project performances, include Steel Magnolias and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (musical). Her portrayal in Steel Magnolias won her an Outstanding Actress Award in the HKAPA.
With her splendid performance in W Theatre's Love is Shit, Shaw was awarded the Best Actress in Leading Role (Comedy/Farce) in the 21th Hong Kong Drama Awards. In 2015, her outstanding performance in W Theatre's Shuraba won her the Best Actress in Leading Role (Tragedy/Drama) in the 24th Hong Kong Drama Awards. In 2017, she won her the Best Actress in Leading Role (Comedy/Farce) again with Almost, Maine.
In 2003, setting up the Wind Mill Grass Theatre with Edmond Tong and Joey Leung, Shaw becomes the Artistic Director of the theatre group. Other productions include: W Theatre's Hate You in a Second, Little Hong Kong (Season 1-6),Theatre du Pif's A Doll's House, Prospects Theatre's The Massage King, Chiu Tsang Hei Life in Concert in 2011, Hong Kong Arts Festival's The Truth About Lying (1st - 3rd run), Show Flat and Smear. Besides, she has also actively involved in drama education.
