Ka Ying Cheung graduated from the School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in acting.
 
Cheung was awarded Best Actress in Musical at the 33th Hong Kong Drama Award for her performance in "Toasty's Graffiti Singing Adventure". And she was nominated both Best Supporting Actress (Comedy/Farce) at the 34th Hong Kong Drama Award and Performer of the Year at IATC(HK) Critics Awards for "In Hollywood We Trust".
 
While a student at the HKAPA, Cheung was awarded The Jacky Cheung Scholarships, and HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund- Reaching Out Awards. She has participated in exchange programme in London and School of Theatre & Dance, Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
 
Recent performances by Cheung include "In a Perfect World" by On&On Theatre Workshop; "The Story of K City", Project Kite "East South West North", Project Alchemist: Public Play Reading "Vacant Possession", by Hong Kong Repertory Theatre; "Venaissance : Les Fleurs du Mal", "The Nether" by Artocrite Theatre; "The Caucasian Chalk Circle" by Actors' Family; Old Times" by Theare du pif; "Toy's Fighting" by Radiant Theatre; "Meow~" by Gaak Yeung; "Castle of Glass: Iridescent" by Artable Studio.
 
Cheung has lately worked as a freelance actress
